LiLu Interiors CEO Lisa Peck was recently honored as a “Best Of” judge at the 2024 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show. In conjunction with the National Kitchen & Bath Association, the event is dedicated to all aspects of kitchen and bathroom design and aims to inspire as an interactive platform showcasing the latest industry products, trends and technologies from hundreds of exhibitors.

Alongside four other design professionals, Peck evaluated a record-breaking number of entries resulting in 48 finalists. The five judges personally visited each finalist’s booth for a final look before deliberating and announcing the winning slate. “It was wonderful to see how happy the gold and silver winners were,” says Peck of the awarding process.

Peck was thrilled to have an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the many innovative and problem-solving new products hitting the market. “Personalization was a strong trend at the show — so many different colors and textures!” Other trends included products that cleared visual clutter by combining multiple functions in one appliance, oftentimes with hidden functions. For example, the Zip Water faucet delivers filtered, boiling or sparkling water with a pragmatic pull-down function. “A product like this would make extra faucets and small water appliances obsolete. Plus, less visual clutter is good for your mental and emotional health,” she says.

Another outstanding find included a kitchen range featuring air fryer, sous vide and griddle functions eliminating the need for small appliances and reducing visual clutter, leading to a more seamless kitchen experience. Awarded “Best in Show” was the FreePower, an under-the-counter device charger that removes the visual clutter of cords and avoids disrupting a clean kitchen aesthetic. Peck asserts that the focus on wellness and reducing visual clutter will be a growing trend in the market.
