Luxury walk-in butler’s pantries are reemerging as a coveted element for homeowners, increasingly making their way onto the must-have list. Historically, these petite spaces were used to store high-end crystal, silver and family heirlooms under the protection of the resident steward. Today, butler’s pantries are designed for optimal efficiency and function, ranging from small closets with open shelving to full-out entertainment zones that are open to guests. With a rise in at-home entertaining these days, this trend is once again gaining popularity, and Vujovich Design Build is here for the comeback.

When these clients’ existing butler’s pantry no longer met their household storage needs, they tapped Vujovich Design Build to reimagine it as a high-performance entertainment and storage hub. Using the original footprint, the team transformed the space to support the homeowners’ lifestyle. The cabinets and drawers that were too small to accommodate bulk and specialty items were replaced with beautiful custom cabinetry. The stunning solution now offers ample room to stow appliances, dinnerware, glassware, silverware, serving platters, linens and more.

While some desire an efficient, kitchen-adjacent area to conceal essentials, food preparation and dirty dishes, this couple preferred a space that would enhance their ability to entertain. Their new pantry features a beverage center boasting a bar sink, dishwasher, ice maker, and multiple refrigeration appliances to organize both adult and nonalcoholic beverages. This area is complete with custom navy cabinetry that showcases detailed mullion designs accented with quartz countertops, brass hardware and an antiqued-mirror backsplash.

“The clients say that after the remodel, the butler’s pantry is now their favorite room in the house,” said Lori Balestri, sales and design director for Vujovich Design Build. “They’re not only obsessed with the navy and brass finishes, but also astonished by how much they’re able to store away in this small space.”

The Vujovich team collaborated closely with the homeowners to ensure the redesigned space captures their timeless yet eclectic style. To that end, a gorgeous marble and gold dot mosaic runs vertically from the countertop up the entire wall. The stunning details continue to the ceiling, where a peek of art deco wallpaper adds some sophisticated shine. The reimagined butler’s pantry exudes a modern glamour that fits perfectly with the home’s architecture, and the clients are ecstatic about how well it performs for gatherings both big and small.
