Letter from the Publisher

North Country Nosh

Our region historically has suffered from an identity crisis when it comes to culinary excellence. Today, however, we’re experiencing a great provincial food movement. Last summer, Saveur came along with a feature story celebrating North cuisine and declaring Minneapolis the “next great food city.” This national recognition highlights our area’s creativity and ability to deliver a world-class gastronomic experience. Welcome to our annual food and wine issue, with original epicurean content covering topics from morel hunting to lutefisk love.

Our feature brings you the latest looks from New York Fashion Week. The insider guide written by Celia Shatzman and illustrated by Pepper Tharp explains how to navigate the fashion frenzy.

On the shelter scene, a recent readership study by the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business revealed that 42% of Artful Living readers plan to remodel their homes in the next year. With that in mind, we tapped some of the brightest professionals to get their take on everything from common misconceptions to enduring classics to trends to try (and some to skip).

Speaking of homes, Artful Living is excited to announce our exclusive marketing partnership with Coldwell Banker Burnet. Distinguished individuals turn to the nation’s leading residential real-estate brand to purchase and sell the area’s finest luxury properties. Starting with this issue, Coldwell Banker Burnet’s Previews® – Distinctive Homes® will appear within our pages.

Cheers,
