With so many new releases hitting our streaming queues each month, it’s difficult to know which are worth watching. Luckily for you, we’ve done the heavy lifting (well, watching) and are pleased to inform you that these are indeed the top 5 TV shows you should be streaming right now.

Hacks

HBO Max

Hacks is back and funnier than ever. The show’s debut season received major acclaim and swept awards season like nobody’s business. Season two picks up right where we left off, watching Ava navigate her tumultuous creative relationship with comedian Deborah Vance (brilliantly played by Jean Smart), with the duo hitting the road to develop a new standup show. Witty, heartfelt and hilarious, Hacks is undoubtedly one of the best things that’s happened to TV in recent years.

Loot

Apple TV+

Imagine the things you could do and the places you could go upon receiving an $87-billion divorce settlement. Enter Molly Novak. Portrayed by Saturday Night Live icon Maya Rudolph, she’s at the center of this fresh comedy series and just might be the most charming character that Apple TV+ has ever created. Rudolph generously gives the character a ton of gumption and heart, and it’s a joy to witness her blossom in this finding-yourself-along-the-way tale.

Candy

Hulu

Just when you thought the true crime genre had officially run out of stories to tell, another series is here to suck you in. Hulu’s Candy is grippingly complex and officially reintroduces actress Jessica Biel to a new audience. The series tells the story of Candy Montgomery, a 1980s housewife who played everything by the books until the ongoing pressure to conform became too much to bear, leading her to act… with deadly results.

Irma Vep

HBO

Have you been wondering where the hell Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander has been? Welcome to the club. Great news: The powerhouse is back in the starring role of HBO’s newest series in collaboration with A24. She plays a movie star looking to expand her career by starring in a remake of the iconic French silent film Les Vampires. So far, the series is proving to be a wild ride, inviting viewers to walk the line between fact and fiction, life and arts.

I Love That for You

Showtime

Inspired by true events, I Love That for You follows childhood cancer survivor Joanna as she pursues her life goal of becoming the best home shopping channel host the world has ever seen. But when a white lie about her health turns into a career, Joanna quickly discovers that living her dreams may cost more than she bargained for.
