Little island, big to-do list. Situated just off Florida’s Gulf Coast, Captiva Island is home to the 330-acre South Seas Island Resort. We’ve picked our five favorite activities to add to your itinerary.
Take a private wave runner tour.
With the help of knowledgeable guides, learn to water ski and navigate the gulf. Explore the area islands, stumble upon native wildlife and admire the architecture of the coastal homes.
Look out for manatees.
“Watch for Manatee” signs line the docks surrounding the yachts. Sip your morning coffee or an evening cocktail while waiting for these gentle giants to congregate.
Reboot with a seaside vinyasa flow.
Located within the resort grounds, boutique studio Ambu Yoga offers a wide array of heated and non-heated yoga as well as a vinyasa flow right on the shores of South Beach. There’s simply no better place to salute the sun.
Enjoy an early morning bike ride.
The resort is 2.5 miles long, necessitating some mode of transportation. Bicycles are available to rent and are the ideal way to observe the Florida fauna and take in the fresh sea air.
Learn to sail.
Jump aboard a catamaran and try your hand at sailing with a little help from the U.S. Sailing–certified instructors at Offshore Sailing School.
