There’s a new restaurant by chef Terry John Zila arriving in the downtown Minneapolis culinary scene, and we simply cannot wait. Zila has partnered with luxury residence tower ELEVEN to bring to life Sel Et Terre, a fresh concept slated to serve American cuisine with Mediterranean, French and Asian influences along the charming River Parkway stretch of the Mill City District.
“I’ve been catering for many of the ELEVEN tenants for over a year now and have been approached a dozen times with the idea of opening a restaurant at the address,” shares Zila. “On the thirteenth time, I finally said yes!”
Inspired by the chef’s very own acclaimed Travail pop-up dining series, Sel Et Terre’s menu will host an array of classics, including French omelets, a spring roll salad and a stellar burger with fries. Zila will also be crafting a selection of lobster, crab and steak dishes, as well as a dessert menu that will offer both vegan and gluten-free options to ensure everyone can enjoy a fantastic last bite. “We’ll also be launching a bar program with a daily happy hour, and we’re working on some killer cocktails!”
When asked what he hopes the new eatery will ultimately bring to the 41-story architectural masterpiece and the surrounding neighborhood, Zila quickly responds, “A great sense of casual elegance and fun! I want Sel Et Terre to be not only a place to dine, but to be the new neighborhood hang.”
Sel Et Terre will open spring 2027 with the chef previewing the menus at his Gallery Kitchen & Event Center in St. Paul leading up to the official date. Until then, we will be patiently refreshing our reservation apps with bated breath.
