With everything going on in the world — the news, deadlines and full-to-the-brim days — I am looking forward to the literal and figurative breath of fresh air that is spring. The promise of optimism that this season holds is a feeling I yearn for each year and have vowed to never take for granted. Like the first evening when it’s warm enough for patio sips, a walk around the lake witnessing the thaw as our collective hibernation concludes, or (my favorite) that one magical week when the lilac and apple blossoms are in full bloom here in Minnesota, the season ahead is full of hope.
Spring’s product selections are a cornucopia of daily delights and tabletop treasures sure to give you that hit of dopamine that we all deserve after a long, cold winter.

Flamingo Estate’s seasonal subscription boxes are a treat for the senses and the soul. Opening one of these inspires instant joy. This edition is an ode to Mexico, a collection of curated products deeply rooted in the country’s people, land and craft. Included is a bottle of the Golden Vanilla Olive Oil infused with regeneratively grown vanilla beans, a banana leaf candle poured into a one-of-kind Oaxacan vessel, Dzidzilché Jungle Honey from the stingless Melipona bee endemic to the Yucatán, a 24-ingredient artisanal mole sauce and more.
For my dining table, I’ve been eyeing the Irina bowls from Jayson Home. Each one is hand painted by Romanian artisans with uniquely expressed marbled strokes in an earthy color palette. Their natural imperfections make them even more charming. They’re made to be filled generously and used frequently — another example of soulful rather than precious pieces for the home.
The new Rosemary Leave-In Hair Mask by Nécessaire is so good — like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Nutrients of rosemary, jojoba, vegan keratin and ceramides are deeply moisturizing yet ultra light for extra shine and resilience. My hair is fine and still growing back after the postpartum shed, and after using this mask, it’s downright bouncy.
Glasvin’s lightweight handblown stemware strikes the rare balance of being both beautiful and sensible, rivaling the finest brands in quality at an accessible price point. After breaking a few too many ultra delicate glasses (even when hand washing), I’ve switched to Glasvin. It’s my new go-to for impossibly thin yet resilient stems for spring gatherings.
My very best,

Emma Cutler Velez, Publisher
