California style has arrived in Wayzata, thanks to 44 North Boutique, owned by Jodi Coughlin and Molly Kleiman. The two met through a mutual friend, and according to Coughlin, “from the very beginning, opening a shop together began to feel so right and so good from every aspect.” Yin and yang is in perfect balance here.

Part of the store’s magic? First, sourcing lines not readily available anywhere else across town. And second, providing top-notch service, from styling and wardrobing to gift buying and, eventually, gift delivery.

The shop masters easy-chic style, from denim to cocktail dresses, Kinross Cashmere to Rebecca Vallance. It also features a beauty bar, with all offerings made from safe ingredients (think iconic Kevyn Aucoin cosmetics, must-have Klorane dry shampoo and cult favorite RMS Beauty). “It’s so important to take care of our skin and bodies,” says Coughlin. “Everything we offer is high-quality and good for you.”

Small but beautiful sundries, like Aerin Lauder home goods and locally made Farahbean jewelry, make for go-to gifts — for yourself or someone else. “I want people to feel good, so the whole experience is welcoming,” Kleiman says. “Come in, have a glass of wine and get away.”
