DWELL 44

When Jon Coty created his modern collaborative design workspace in a 7,000-square-foot St. Louis Park locale in 2020, he knew he had a good thing going. So good that he made plans to incorporate another 4,500 square feet up on the rooftop as the business continues to flourish. That growth reflects the company name itself, as the 44 in DWELL 44 relates to stability, structure and establishing a solid foundation to achieve goals.

DWELL 44 features best-in-class brands that aren’t otherwise available or common in the Twin Cities — everything from Cambria, Crystal Cabinet Works and the Galley Workstation to nearly indestructible Trespa Pura siding from the Netherlands to several energy-efficient, locally produced custom window and door options. It also acts as a gathering space for architects, builders, interior designers, clients and the public to collaborate, experience the offerings, and interact with the knowledgeable staff.

“We focus on the best-in-class products available in the marketplace,” Coty shares. “You’re building or remodeling your dream space, and we strive to make it an enjoyable experience from start to finish.”

When clients choose DWELL 44, he says, they’re getting outstanding service and individualized attention in a space that is “adapting to the crazy world we live in and are going to be living in.” A world where design professionals are increasingly moving out of offices and need a space to work together. It’s about creating a community of collaborators.

“We offer the full experience,” Coty adds. “There’s simply nothing else like it.” When architects meet with clients, for instance, they have access to the client’s preferred snacks and drinks or a special bottle of wine from the shop’s wine fridge to celebrate a dream home brought to life. Plus they get the chance to test drive the wide variety of chic, comfortable furniture on offer in the show room during their brainstorming sessions. The proof that it’s a winning combination? Coty says nearly every customer becomes a lifelong friend.
