Nestled on the scenic shores of Lake Minnetonka, a couple’s Minnetrista family haven recently underwent a transformation to infuse fresh modern elegance into the beloved lakeside retreat. Originally remodeled by Lake Country Builders nearly two decades ago, the homeowners confidently tapped the team once more to guide the property into its next era. The vision for the project focused on giving the home a contemporary facelift from the inside out, enhancing the curb appeal and modernizing functionality to create a luxurious yet welcoming space for gatherings with family and friends. With a budget of $1 million, this extensive remodel showcases thoughtful craftsmanship and refined materials, giving the home a renewed sense of sophistication and purpose.
Alongside collaborators Windmiller Design Studio and A. Sadowski Designs, the team strived to honor the homeowners’ appreciation for both traditional and contemporary styles. Providing construction drawings and overall design coordination, Windmiller served as the project architect. The A. Sadowski team played a key role in the interior design, curating high-end materials like Carrara marble, Barone limestone and Alder limestone to infuse the space with natural elegance. Beautiful custom millwork and cabinetry gives the reimagined interiors a sense of intimacy and luxe personalization. The heart of the home, a spacious great room, now centers around a Heat & Glo gas fireplace that offers warmth and an inviting focal point. In keeping with the project’s balanced aesthetic, every room is thoughtfully appointed, from the custom cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms to decorative Genrose and Bedrosians tile patterns that elevate each space’s unique charm.
Outside, a new covered entry and patio seamlessly extend the home’s livable space, inviting guests to take in year-round lake views. Sustainability was also a priority; Lake Country Builders incorporated Marvin Elevate energy-efficient windows and adhered to a “green standard” throughout the renovation, making this an environmentally conscious update as well as a luxurious one. Now, natural light floods through the expansive new windows, enhancing the airy, open feel that defines the home’s modern transformation.
With this meticulous renovation, Lake Country Builders has reimagined a cherished lakefront property, turning it into a refined yet relaxed sanctuary. Each element, from the white oak flooring to the PetraSlate travertine in the wine room, speaks to a commitment to quality and style.
