One of the top priorities for the project was to allow more natural light into the home. With the ceilings now vaulted and large classic windows incorporated, light pours into every room to create a bright, inviting atmosphere. The addition of the loft and sunroom amplifies the sunny glow of the interiors while providing a versatile space that can serve as an office, playroom or a guest room.
Eco-friendly design was another important consideration for this total transformation. The team opted to use sustainable, energy-efficient materials and even installed a new well to modernize the property’s functionality. Preserving the original brick not only minimized scrap, it also allowed the traditional tuck-under style of the house to shine. New low-maintenance exterior finishes like the back patio, redesigned front stairs and clay planters complement the minimalist feel of the residence and will enhance summer socializing.
A floor-to-ceiling fireplace featuring cold-rolled steel commands the living room and acts as a beacon for gathering.
