Recently, the James Beard–nominated chef teamed up with luxe retailer Martin Patrick 3 and maximalist brand La DoubleJ for a chic evening filled to the brim with fantastic fare and standout style. Here, Malone shares the story behind Paris Dining Club, her favorite dinner party trick and more.
Why did you decide to launch Paris Dining Club?
Beauty and incredible food take us to special places emotionally. I’m drawn to creating experiences that take us to those places and allow for truly meaningful connection. That’s why people should be having more dinner parties! But it takes time and is often stressful, so Paris Dining Club makes it easier.
What’s your favorite part of planning a dinner party?
I really like considering every detail and part of the evening. How do I create an environment and experience where guests truly feel relaxed and joyful?
What was the process like collaborating with Martin Patrick 3 and La DoubleJ for an evening of food and style?
Well, I’m quite obsessed with beautiful things and design, so it was a dream come true. Martin Patrick 3 is a treasure in Minneapolis and all things La DoubleJ are simply breathtaking.
How would you describe your personal style?
Old mixed with new. Objects of intention. Romantic and a little rock-and-roll.
Any tips for creating a well-designed tablescape?
Be a maximalist. Charm goes a long way to show your guests you care.
What’s one detail every great party must have?
Good music. Maybe a little too loud.
