Secret to a great garden: Proper plant location is everything. Considering the sun and water requirements of a plant as well as the hardiness zone is vital to maintaining a healthy garden.
Single feature for instant curb appeal: Window boxes with some colorful annuals can go a long way.
Common misconception: That landscaping is just about plants and mulch. Good landscape design considers both the architecture of the home and the natural characteristics of the property to create a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior.
Most memorable project: We created a Zen deck overlooking a nature preserve for a client in Minnetonka so she had a peaceful setting for morning yoga. I designed it so it felt like the deck simply grew out of the landscape; we cut the boards around large boulders and worked the deck around existing trees to give it a very natural feel.
Your company’s trademark: We take a lot of time working with our clients through the design process. A landscape project can have a huge impact on the look and function of a property, so we want to make sure our clients have all the information and visuals needed to make the right decisions about this investment.
Easiest way to get inspired: Travel around the city. The metro area is full of public gardens and beautifully designed landscapes that provide plenty of inspiration.
