Your company’s trademark: At Gray Gardens, we’re passionate about the interplay between homes and gardens, people and nature, and history and culture. Whether we’re designing formal French and Italian landscapes, planting exuberant English flower gardens, building elegant outdoor kitchens and living rooms, or creating luxurious swimming pools and pavilions, we go above and beyond to create extraordinary beauty and immeasurable value for our clients.

Common misconception: That gardens and landscapes are expensive. It’s all about the materials selected and the details for the design that create a lasting outdoor environment.

A classic that will never go out of style: A perennial and annual mixture for gardens and natural stone products.

Most memorable project: For a couple confirmed Francophiles, we designed a French-inspired outdoor environment to reflect their New Orleans–style home. Taking inspiration from my travels in Paris and Provence, I designed a simple yet sophisticated plan featuring trees, plants, shrubs and flowers that are equally at home in France and in Minneapolis. The Gray Gardens team replaced the old blacktop driveway with intimate courtyard spaces and lined the path to the front door with colorful annuals and Provençal-style urns planted with topiary trees. To create a focal point, we installed a French fountain with a low rim that makes an ideal place to enjoy a glass of Provençal Rosé at dusk.
