Earlier this summer, we gathered at a stunning Artisan Home Tour property to celebrate the launch of our Summer 2018 issue and all of the hard work that goes into the production of these spectacular properties. We had plenty to celebrate, including our eye-catching cover courtesy of photographer Gray Malin and our enthralling feature story about how F. Scott Fitzgerald’s time in Minnesota inspired him to pen The Great Gatsby. The fete was a huge success thanks to our wonderful sponsors.

Presented by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities each year the first three weekends of June, the Artisan Home Tour presents incredible residences designed and constructed by the region’s top builders and remodelers. This year marked the fifth annual tour and highlighted 27 homes showcasing the highest standards of design, finish and craftsmanship.

We hosted our party at a luxurious modern abode on Minneapolis’s Kenwood Parkway built by Kroiss Development and designed by Peterssen/Keller Architecture. The natural-light-filled home boasts breathtaking floor-to-ceiling windows throughout by Kolbe Gallery Twin Cities. The master bedroom offers panoramic views of the surrounding foliage — no artwork needed, just top-of-the-line windows.

Thanks to Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, this home has the absolute dream kitchen. It’s sleek and simple yet a top-notch cooking space; even a professional chef, Wandering Kitchen’s Collin Murray, gave it his stamp of approval. He put on a show crafting a menu that coincided with coverage from summer issue, including Fitzgerald (smoked trout devilish eggs), Hong Kong (build-your-own tofu lettuce wraps), Jamaica (seafood clouds with saffron aioli), Los Angeles (beet carpaccio with truffle oil and candied walnut), and Portland (grilled and roasted vegetables with beef tartare toasts). For dessert, we were spoiled with beautiful and tasty sweets from Quince Catering. Throughout the evening, guests received live fashion illustrations by Claire Ward and peeks inside Jaguar and Land Rover model cars. Additional thanks to Citizens One, Camille Lizama and Spacecrafting.
