Hennepin Made is a Minneapolis-based artisan glass lighting brand driven by the desire to build something more sustainable and transformative than the makers that came before. “Our studio is dedicated to making objects that express the beauty of artisan craftsmanship, ” says founder Jackson Schwartz. “Producing these lights right in the heart of the city is paramount for the culture we are creating.”

Hennepin Made’s makers shape out-of-this-world design concepts then transform them into reality, making the entire team the soul of the business. The company sources the cleanest raw glass in the world through Swedish manufacturer Glasma. Because Sweden has some of the strictest environmental regulations, higher quality and a lower footprint are guaranteed. Core collections include Bruma, Celeste, Neena, Halo, Foliole and Parallel, each holding a distinct spirit and energy.
In 2016, Hennepin Made purchased, renovated and moved into the Glass House, a 30,000-square-foot industrial warehouse that today is becoming a catalyst for Minneapolis’ evolving Root District. More than just a building, the Glass House is a space to gather, connect, learn and make progress together.
“Today, a dream is coming to fruition,” proclaims Director of Brand and Creative Mathew Swenson. “Glass House works to empower cultural production in our community by showcasing bold ideas and amplifying the voices of the people behind those ideas.”
Hennepin Made takes great pride in championing sustainability and approaches every project through an eco-futurism lens, continuing to evolve its systems to become a more sustainable and dynamic company. The brand’s vertically integrated factory allows it to address key issues. From renewable energy and waste management to paying living wages to the creation of green spaces, Hennepin Made works to protect the environment and improve our community.
Hennepin Made is currently booking private appointments in its new show room dubbed the Glass Room. A lighting gallery by day and a distinctive salon by night, the Glass Room features the brand’s lighting collections along with other handcrafted elements that give the environment a magical aura.
