History Buffs

Given Pensacola’s 16th century beginnings, there’s no shortage of historical knowledge to absorb during your visit. Join a Boo in the City Haunted Walking Tour, which will guide you through the city’s historic downtown via the chilling tales of ghosts, legends and unsolved mysteries. If paranormal stories aren’t your thing, opt for Fiesta Pensacola’s Living Museum experience at the Pensacola Museum of History. “Fiesta’s Living Museum offers an immersive, character‑driven journey through Pensacola’s 467‑year history, allowing visitors to learn directly from the people who shaped the city across its many eras,” says Bridget Middleton, Executive Director of Fiesta Pensacola. “Our interpreters don’t just tell Pensacola’s story, they step into it, giving attendees a rare chance to engage with history in a way that feels personal, immediate and unforgettable.” Looking for a more laid-back experience? Treat your ears and take an auditory journey through time with tickets to Pensacola Symphony Orchestra’s Mozart & Bizet concert.

Art Lovers

From unique exhibitions to interactive displays, memorable art experiences are Foo Foo Fest’s specialty. Don’t miss Friends of Downtown’s Lightspill installment, which enlists hundreds of mirrored spheres to transform the landmark Artel Gallery into a giant, dazzling sculpture. Alternatively, engage in riveting conversation around the growing world of artificial intelligence at Pensacola State College’s Synthetic Creativity: Ai-Da Unveiled, a multi-day experience introducing the world’s first AI robot artist. Or jump into the increasingly popular world of zines — mini DIY art booklets — at HalloZine Fest. Presented by 309 Punk Project, this showcase will invite attendees to dig into the pages of local and regional zinemakers, providing access to exhibits and marketplaces. “Having top-caliber creatives like Martin Wong, Cristy Road Carrera and Bratty Bre come to Pensacola to share their artwork is just so exciting,” says Lauren Anzaldo, 309 Punk Project’s HalloZine Fest Organizer.

Music and Theater Enthusiasts

The Big Apple isn’t the only place to travel if you love live performance. During Foo Foo Fest, Pensacola’s local theater organization PenArts will stage the local debut of showstopping musical Side Show. Telling the story of the conjoined Hilton twins and a traveling freak show in the early 1900s, the production “blends theatricality, colorful characters, a slice of history and powerful music,” says Christine Kellogg, Artistic Director of PenArts. After curtain call, continue your one-of-a-kind theater experiences with Pensacola Opera’s Rock the Runway: Living Art at the historic Saenger Theatre. A spectacular collision of artistic disciplines, witness a unique blend of opera voices, ballet dancers and runway models, all representing and celebrating the intersections of Pensacola’s thriving arts community. And, of course, don’t miss out on attending a Night Moves Music Fest concert, where you just might sing along to your favorite artist or go home with a new one.

Family Friendly

Foo Foo Fest’s kid-friendly programming makes it easy to introduce the entire family to the wide world of artistic expression and make memories that will last a lifetime. No tickets are necessary to attend Jazz for Justice, which transforms downtown Pensacola into a hub of all-ages activities, food vendors and shopping. Other youth-focused pop-ups like Science on the Street, Make Your Own Paint and Jazz by the Books blend hands-on learning with a hefty dose of fun. For a truly unforgettable evening, chassé over to Pensacola Little Theater for Ballet Pensacola’s must-see Carnival of the Animals. “Created especially for Foo Foo Fest, [this] family-friendly production brings Saint-Saëns’ beloved musical menagerie to life through original choreography and imaginative puppetry as dancers transform into a vibrant cast of animals,” says Bianca Villegas, Executive Director of Ballet Pensacola. “For visitors and locals alike, it’s a joyful, unexpected and immersive experience for every generation.”
