The beauty of the four seasons lies in the signature transitional and transformational period that occurs between each inevitable and familiar chapter. And as Northerners, nothing feels more luxe than the glorious thaw as we embrace everything the spring has to offer. Channeling this energy, Minneapolis menswear destination EQUIPMENT has refreshed its bounty and roster of elevated clothing, apothecary and home goods brands that champion the art of exquisite design.
“Our brand edit for spring is focused on the unequivocal quality of material and design with independent designers that are at the pinnacle of contemporary menswear,” says owner Erik Hamline. “We are finally seeing brands Auralee, Man-tle, Margaret Howell, Lemaire and Evan Kinori land in the shop alongside mfpen, Yoko Sakamoto, Lady White, Still by Hand, Studio Nicholson, A Kind of Guise and other favorites of ours.”
The menswear mart’s sister, the neighboring cafe and sound bar, Harmony is also refreshing its footing and soundtrack for spring. “We’re really digging into a lot of lovers rock, deep house and 90s/early 2000s R&B — lots of groove heavy and sexy tracks working their way through our evenings every weekend,” he details.
Earlier this year, Harmony announced the launch of its exciting new wine bar programming. The cafe’s wine list currently offers a rotating cast of six to seven natural selections from some of the most exceptional producers across the world and is partnering with local shop Henry & Son for a monthly residency that will spotlight limited pours. “David Connor is pulling some very special and eccentric natural bottles, and we’ll be serving these each Thursday of the month through the summer,” Hamline says. “When they’re gone each evening, they’re gone.”
The hot spot is also kicking off a semi-monthly groove party dubbed “Eternity,” hosting select DJs and featuring a special menu each night paired with the hosts music programming.
On the topic of eats, Harmony is preparing to launch its mid-spring menu that will host a variety of standouts, including raw and aged cheese offerings, various imported charcuterie delights, seasonal local produce–forward small plates, a spring take on a baechu kimchi grilled cheese, as well as a bar steak with a grass-fed premium grade Coulotte.
Whether you’re looking to mix it up for a date night or in search for a new hub to groove with friends over drinks, Harmony is at the ready to keep the vibes high as we near the welcome of Minnesota’s favorite time of the year: patio season.
