During the summer of 2019, a tragic house fire occurred in New Hope, leaving three adults with disabilities without housing. Today, Denali Custom Homes founder David Bieker and his team have joined nonprofit Opportunity Partners to launch a full rebuild of the residence.
“It’s a real challenge in our community and many communities across the country,” says Bieker. “This project touches my heart personally as a father of an adult child with special needs. I have experienced firsthand the challenge of locating housing opportunities and being on a waitlist for many years before finally securing an apartment for my son.”

Denali Custom Homes places its priority on providing a high-quality product that is always executed at the highest level of service. “We are bringing the same values to our rebuild of this home and hope that we can create a highly functional space for the men who live there and that it will serve them and future tenants for a very long time,” Bieker explains. “Building a home is a very rewarding experience for not only the clients we serve, but also for us as builders. Sharing this with a demographic in need is an honor and a pleasure for us, and we are always looking for new opportunities to benefit those in need of housing.”

The home is expected to be completed within the next six months and will include four bedrooms, allowing individuals to age in place peacefully.
