Confession: I’ve had a lifelong Birkenstocks obsession. I have been a loyal wearer since childhood, and I’m loving how the iconic footwear stays relevant in the ever-changing fashion landscape. Want to join the club? Here are 5 ways to wear Birkenstocks this fall.

1774 Collection

The 1774 Collection is refreshing Birkenstock’s DNA by paying tribute to its roots while showcasing new interpretations of the brand’s most iconic designs. This forward-thinking new initiative has opened the door for Birkenstock to collaborate with some of the hottest names in fashion, including Rick Owens, Jil Sander and Proenza Shouler, who proved that Velcro can actually look cool (adds to cart).

Socks

Don’t even get me started on Birkenstock socks. Aside from what I consider a major miss on the brand’s part for not calling them “Birkensocks,” I can tell you my Birkenstock socks are a big reason I’m welcoming the arrival of fall weather. They are cozy, stay in place and serve as a fantastic gift for that loved one who actually enjoys getting socks.

Shearling

Another thing Birkenstock does right? Shearling. The brand offers several styles of its genuine teddy shearling, and you can’t go wrong with whatever you buy. I haven’t gotten my hands on a pair yet, but the shearling sandals will be the next addition to my collection to offset my limited-edition Il Dolce Far Niente Raffia Arizonas. They scream cozy and will basically double as slippers.

Slippers

Speaking of slippers: I’ve never been a huge fan, mainly because most pairs lack arch support. Then I slipped my feet into some Zermatt slippers, and I am a changed woman. They deliver all the benefits and comfort found in every pair of Birkenstocks, and they’ve officially become my go-to house footwear.

Birkenstock Skincare

Using the brand’s signature cork, Birkenstock has created a natural skincare line that promises brighter, smoother skin. The 100% vegan collection includes an anti-stress serum, a moisturizing hand and nail cream, a calming face oil, and more. While I haven’t gotten my hands the products just yet, I’m eager to incorporate Birkenstock into my self-care regimen.
