When Anda Spa opened in downtown Minneapolis’s Hotel Ivy back in August, we were the first to tell you what treatment you had to try at the ultra luxurious wellness emporium. (Mostly because we couldn’t wait to test it out ourselves!)
And now, Anda is upping its wellness ante by offering fitness experiences, ranging from group classes to personal training to even nutrition coaching. All are tailored to each individual client’s goals, needs and wants. Hotel Ivy guests can take advantage of the state-of-the-art fitness center located on the second floor as well as pop into a yoga class for free. The gym boasts a studio space, Peloton bikes, Concept 2 rowers and SkiErg machines, Technogym equipment, Olympic weightlifting platforms, and more. Monthly memberships are available and include access to Anda’s luxe quartz spa and locker rooms, meaning you can enjoy the dry sauna, steam room and whirlpool before or after a workout (or both!).
We had the opportunity to try a personal training session with Anda Fitness Director Cyrus Lemon. It began with some basic intake to get information about my fitness history, current goals, health concerns and the like. From there, we got down to business, warming up then focusing on exercises and movements that tested my functional fitness and worked to address imbalances and weaknesses (my personal goals for the session). With each activity, Lemon ensured I didn’t fatigue to the point of poor form and coached me through any challenging final reps. He also provided some key insight into how I could improve certain muscle weaknesses. Afterward, I made my way to the quartz spa for a rejuvenating sauna session and whirlpool soak. Of course, this was just my experience. As Lemon is quick to point out, no two humans are the same, so no two Anda fitness experiences will be the same. But a constant is a fun, safe, comfortable environment where wellness comes full circle.
