While the year is still young, I’m embracing a routine refresh resolution beginning within a realm I’ve grown to be quite comfortable in: the Twin Cities plant scene. With chilly temperatures in the forecast for the foreseeable future, what better time to discover and explore new green spaces? Here are 5 new Twin Cities plant shops on my list to check out this year.

The Greenery Minneapolis Plant Shop & Mercantile

Founded in 2018, this Ojibwe female–owned shop offers houseplants and handmade goods from a variety of local artisans. Although the Greenery Minneapolis technically isn’t new to the scene, I can’t wait to become a regular at the plant shop’s new location!

Lost in the Forrest

Thanks in part to youth culture, social media is the new Yellow Pages for discovering local businesses. I love scrolling and seeing the growth of shops like Lost in the Forrest. With the recent opening of its storefront at the Shops at West End, we can all continue to encourage our green thumbs in St. Louis Park.

Planty Queens

Planty Queens is owned by two women who understand what it takes to keep a plant collection well cared for. Offering fertilizers, pest-killing products and coveted wish-list plants, it’s sure to be an add-to-cart kind of day whether you opt for shipping, local delivery or in-person shopping. A brick-and-mortar location is set to open in Northeast Minneapolis.
