The annual American Craft Show is returning to St. Paul’s RiverCentre April 7–10, 2016. The event will highlight more than 220 juried artists from across the country. Serious shoppers plan to attend the preview party on Thursday evening to mix and mingle with the artists and have first choice of one-of-a-kind jewelry, fashion and home décor. The party will feature Balvenie Scotch whiskey tastings and a variety of craft microbrews courtesy of the Beer Dabbler. It’s an extremely civilized way to shop and support the American Craft Council.
On Friday, April 8, local stylists Jose Ayala, Davee Ek, Christina Fortier and Tressie Schneider as well as ACC’s Style Slam Ambassador Grant Whittaker will scout the show floor looking for fashion, jewelry and other statement pieces. Each stylist will use their favorite finds to style mannequins and models, offer fashion tips to attendees, and post their top picks online. On Saturday, April 9, the stylists will provide member makeovers.
This is the fourth year of ACC’s popular interior-design exhibit, “Make Room: Modern Design Meets Craft.” Working with this year’s theme, 4 Directions, designers Carter Averbeck, Drew Beson, Liz Gardner and Jennifer Jorgensen will incorporate pieces from the show into room vignettes that depict the essence of style in the North, South, East or West.
